How we collect and use your information

Texas Lake Toys LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates txlaketoys.com and provides personal watercraft rental services in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We collect information you give us directly:
• Booking information — your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, the watercraft, date, and time you book, the number of passengers, and any promo code you use
• Rental agreement information — your home address, driver's license number and state, emergency contact details, and the eligibility certifications in our Rental Agreement (such as swimming ability, age, and the health conditions listed there)
• Passenger and minor information — the same details for passengers, and for riders who are 16 or 17, the name and contact information of the parent or legal guardian who signs for them
• Signatures — electronic signatures and initials on our rental documents
• Payment information — deposits and payments are processed by Square. We see the payment amount and status, but we never receive or store your full card number
• Messages — anything you send us through our contact form, email, text, or phone
• Watercraft location — every watercraft is equipped with a GPS tracking device. During your rental we may track and monitor the watercraft's location for safety, emergency response, and recovery, as described in Section 6 of our Rental Agreement
• Photos and video — we only use your image, name, or likeness in our marketing if you sign our optional Photo & Media Release. Signing it is never required to rent
When you visit our website, we collect limited usage information through Google Analytics, including:
• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• General geographic location (city/region level)
• Device type and browser information
• How you arrived at our website (search engine, social media, direct link)
Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this data. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Hold, confirm, and manage your booking, including releasing unpaid holds
• Prepare your rental documents with your booking details already filled in
• Confirm age and eligibility requirements, including parent or guardian consent for riders who are 16 or 17
• Process deposits, payments, refunds, and security deposit holds
• Send booking confirmations, reminders, and service messages
• Respond to your questions and requests
• Keep you and our watercraft safe, respond to emergencies, and handle damage claims
• Keep the business records and legal documentation we're required to keep
• Understand how our website is used so we can improve it
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing. We use a small number of service providers to run our booking system, and each only receives what it needs to do its job:
• Netlify — hosts our website and runs our online booking system
• Google Workspace — our booking calendar and business email
• Square — payment processing for deposits and rental payments
• SignWell — electronic signatures for our rental documents
• Google Analytics — website usage statistics
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy. We may also share information when required by law or valid legal process, with emergency responders or law enforcement when needed to protect someone's safety, with our insurers and repair providers in connection with an incident or damage claim, or with a buyer if our business is ever sold.
We keep signed rental agreements, waivers, amendments, and related records for at least 10 years for business and legal purposes. If a booking hold expires without payment, the hold is removed from our calendar and the unsigned documents are canceled. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and follow up. Website analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings.
We use reputable service providers with industry-standard security, secure (HTTPS) connections, and access limited to what's needed to run the business. No method of storing or sending information is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
You can ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Some records, such as signed rental agreements and waivers, must be kept for legal and business reasons even if you ask us to delete other information. If you signed our Photo & Media Release, you can ask us to remove specific photos or videos from active use as described in that release. Our website uses cookies only through Google Analytics for website traffic analysis. We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Our rentals are for riders 16 and older. Riders who are 16 or 17 may only participate with a parent or legal guardian's consent and signature, and we collect their information only for their rental. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, please contact us at info@txlaketoys.com and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
